About MONTREAL SPECIAL NEEDS FAMILY ORGANIZATION

My Story

I am a mother of four daughters.

When my fourth daughter, Victoria, was just two years old, we received the words no parent is ever prepared to hear:

She was diagnosed with an intellectual disability. We were told she would likely never walk or talk.

In that moment, the future felt rewritten. But I refused to let a diagnosis define my daughter’s destiny.

Instead of accepting limits, we chose action. Victoria began extensive physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. Our days were filled with appointments, exercises, repetition, and perseverance. We also pursued hyperbaric therapy, searching for every opportunity that might help her grow stronger and more independent. It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t quick. And it certainly wasn’t cheap.

But today, Victoria is not isolated. She is progressing. She is seen. She is included. She continues to prove that potential cannot be measured at two years old. Through this journey, I learned something heartbreaking:

Many families in Montreal with children with special needs simply cannot afford the therapies their children desperately need. The cost is overwhelming. The waitlists are long. And too often, children are left without support — not because they lack potential, but because their families lack resources. I knew I could not walk this path and stay silent.

Out of hardship, the Montreal Special Needs Family Organization (MSNF) was born.

I founded MSNF to help underprivileged families access therapy for their children. We pay the full cost of therapy so that finances never stand between a child and their future. Every child deserves the chance to reach their fullest potential — regardless of their family’s income. My daughter’s journey changed me. It strengthened me. It gave my pain purpose.

I chose to do good through my hardship. I chose to turn struggle into service.

I chose to build something that would lift other families the way I once needed lifting. Victoria is my inspiration.

MSNF is my promise to every family who feels alone. No child should be defined by a diagnosis.

No family should fight this battle without support.

And as long as I can, I will continue to fight — not just for my daughter, but for all of them.

Our Mission

MSNF became a registered charity in 2015 with a dedicated mission to support underprivileged children in accessing the specialized therapies, treatments, and services they need. We are committed to improving the quality of life for children with special needs by helping families overcome financial barriers to essential care.

Through the generous support of individuals, businesses, organizations, and foundations, we continue to create meaningful opportunities for children to grow, develop, and thrive.

Has Your Child Been Diagnosed with a Disability?

Let Us Help You Help Them.

Long wait times for diagnosis and therapy can delay the support your child needs. Early intervention is critical, but private services — often costing up to $150 per hour — can be financially overwhelming for families.

MSNF helps bridge the gap by providing access to essential therapies and support services so children can receive the care they deserve, sooner
